Oh my . . .

It has been raining so hard this evening! I'm glad I saw it coming and could secure the animals and what not outside. Chuck got home with a trailer load of wood for his shed just as the first drops of rain started falling from the sky. The lightening and thunder was awesome. I love thunderstorms (we don't have to worry here like they do in the mid-west when there's a bad storm, so I can say I love thunderstorms.). We've had a couple of good ones this year, but nothing that has knocked the power out or made your skin crawl when the thunder cracks right over the house.

The funniest Thunder story happened about 9 years ago. We lived in the Salt Lake Valley and a storm was starting. I was putting kids to bed and chuck was in our bedroom. He said he was kneeling at the side of the bed praying and the thunder cracked and he jumped over the bed in one leap and was into the room with me and the kids in the second leap. His heart was racing and I was laughing sooo hard at the look on his face. Okay, so you had to be there, but it was pretty funny to me. . he still gets upset when I laugh about it.

I spent the day reading Midnight Sun . .this is by Stephanie Myers the Twilight Saga author. The story starts at the same place as book #1. This book was meant to be sold, but somehow a copy ended up on the internet and you know how things spread like wild fire here. On her webside she talks about how devistated she is over it, but decided that she wanted to put the story out there rather than people having to go find the illegal copies. The manuscript was 276 pages (double spaced) and I got it read today. Because I'd just read Twilight on Monday and Tuesday this week it was all fresh in my mind and I could scan through the manuscript quickly. I also finished the second book this morning. I was up until 2:00 am reading it and with Chuck gone I had to sleep with the bathroom light on hehe. I'm such a wimp. The book and the manuscript were both excellent.

Well, enough rambling for tonight. Night all.

Building a shed . . .

is NOT fun. My husband and I got the four corner posts up today. Talk about crazy. We got the first two in and then when trying to put in the back two corners we had a horrible time getting the thing square! My poor dh had to make the holes bigger so we could actually get everything to line up. But, we did it! Next week we will have 8 more 4x4's to put up, but getting the 4 corners square was the hardest (I hope!)

Joshua spent almost all day playing with his little friend. They looked so cute . .they both had "big" hats and it was so funny watching them walk down the street together.

I got a cute photo of Joshua naked except for the hat hehe. He'd gone into the bathroom and I couldn't resist making him pose when he came back out. It's just his backside, but with the great big hat it's pretty funny. I'm in the process of scrapping it, so when it's done I'll post it. I just realized today that I haven't scrapped his birthday pictures yet either or the girls "first day of school" pictures. I know what I'm doing this weekend hehe.

We are heading up to the zoo on Monday, since it's a holiday and the girls are out of school. The 3 younger kids have never been and Makiya hasn't been since she was a baby. I'm looking forward to the day.

Free Butterfly

What a day. This morning Chuck decided to go to Gunnison to pick up the 4x4's for the shed he is building. Well, he started his van and backed it up to his trailer. When he got out of the van (with it still running) the door closed and was locked. He has automatic door locks that lock when he starts the van . .and he hadn't closed the door when he was backing up so he didn't have to unlock it before getting out. Well, after an hour of searching for a spare key and/or something to jimmy the lock he finally got the van open.

He got on his way and about an hour or so later he calls and says to come rescue him. He lost the tread on one of the tires on the trailer. Now, this wouldn't have been so bad, but he already had the wood on the trailer and he had Joshua with him. I was still trying to work (no work available this morning) and had an hour until I was suppose to be done and wouldn't you know it just as he called work showed up. So, I had to get ahold of my supervisor and couldn't. I headed out armed with my supervisor's phone # and went to rescue my guys.

Once I got there it didn't take very long to get the tire changed, but Joshua wanted to ride home with mom hehe. We did make it back, just in time for me to go help a total stranger with some packing because she is moving this weekend. See, that is what Mormon's do . . .we help those in need . . . a very CHRISTIAN thing to do (because after all we really are CHRISTIANS). When I got home from doing that, Joshua and Chuck were both asleep, so I layed down on the couch for about a half hour until a darn fly kept trying to get in my mouth. I got up and went in my room and layed down where it was fly free . . that lasted all of 15 minutes until Joshua got up. Oh well, bedtime will eventually get here.

OHHHH, I've been reading Twilight. I finally found it at the Bookmobile on Monday and I finished it yesterday evening. Soooo good. Can't wait to get my hands on book #2.

Now after all this I have a freebie for you.

This is no longer available. It's gray so you can recolor as you please. This is for personal use only! No commercial use.

Another Saturday Post

Oh yeah, I've done it now rofl. Like my new background? You can find free (and beautiful) background too. Click on the little square at the top of my blog and you'll find the site. I did create my own header though.

Saturday Stuff

Hey everyone! Thanks to all those that have posted comments for my freebie over at 4shared.

Let's see . . .not a whole lot going on lately. School started again this week, the girls are glad to be back and I'm glad to be back into a routine with Joshua.

Chuck is starting on a worm shed. He got the holes dug (I should say, "WE" got the holes dug). He got them inspected yesterday morning and now he can start putting in the posts. He will pick up a lot of the building material next weekend when he goes up to the Farmer's Market. It'll be a big project, but we will need the castings. We were so jazzed this week when a company in Idaho called and wants a TON (literally) of castings come spring. They are even willing to pay a big deposit. This will ensure the shed gets built and we can actually stock it with worms. What a blessing.

Have you tried worm castings? Check out our website . . .Rott'n Apple Worm Farm and get with it people! hehehe. Best stuff for your yards, flower beds, house plants and especially gardens.

Our new puppy is doing good. She's getting big! But, we knew she would.

Okay, so have any of you seen the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? It's one of my favorites. I "forced" the kids to watch it last Sunday (as they would say) and now it is Joshua's favorite movie. He can even tell you which brother is which! He has watched it about 8 times since Sunday rofl. His second favorite movie . . .Shirley Temple's "Heidi". We don't have regular TV, just movies and it's so nice to be able to keep so much trash out of home right now.

Our families current fav's are: 7 Brides; Night at the Museum; Nat'l Treasure 2 (we really like 1 also); Ice Age the melt down (the first Ice Age is great as well); and Holes. I know some of these are older movies, but it's what's been playing at the Squires' house lately.

Today is Joshua's 3rd Birthday!

Today is my sweet baby's 3rd birthday. Guess I have to stop calling him baby huh. We got him a bike, but he has yet to figure out how to peddle it hehe.

This first video is the family singing to him. The second one is a birthday solo. The last part gets soft, so turn up your sound.

August CT assignment

Well, Purple Paper Flower is closing . .I was so bummed out because I'd only been on the CT for 1 month. But, then the CT manager offered the CT members a position at Get Digi With It and I jumped at the chance. There are several of the same designers selling at GDWI. Anyway, here are my first 2 layouts for August using Hold it Together by Little Mrs. Liz.

Midnight

Here is a pictures of Chuck with his dog. You can see a little better how big she is already at 15 weeks old. EDITED: Oh my I just noticed that the angle I took this picture it looks like my husband's head it hitting the ceiling. I assure you it is NOT hitting the ceiling and is actually well below it. . .Our ceilings are vaulted and I think that probably has a big somthing to do with it hehe.

My Anniversary

Today is my wedding anniversary. Chuck and I have been married 15 years. For our anniversary he surprised me with this pretty fountain, a herb kit, an apple spice candle and three 3 Musketeer Bars! I told him to count the dog and the dog's crate as his present, well, and the frozen yogurt I treated him to yesterday hehe.

Puppy Luv

Everyone seems to be adjusting well to our new baby. She is no longer jumping up on Joshua, which is a very good thing, although, now Joshua feels like he can chase her around the house with his popper toy, scarying her to death! Still no accidents, yippeeee!

She did ruin Stacia's dress yesterday. The movement of our dresses we had on for church drove her crazy . .as in "I have to catch that thing!" She ended up putting 4 holes in one of Stacia's favorite dresses grrrr. We learned though that we have to be extra careful right now with our clothes.

Oh, and BTW, I bought a new vacuum last week and I'm loving it. My house is feeling so much cleaner. I know it's picking up way more stuff than my last vacuum! I've had to clean the filters 3 times in 1 week. . . so much dust/dirt/fur/hair in my carpets. When you walk across the carpet it even feels soft now!

Our new addition . . .

Well, here's our new baby. She is Mastiff/Rottweiler. She is a bit hyper, but we expect her to calm down as she gets use to her new surroundings. She's been here 13 hours and so far, no accidents in the house! Chuck had to take her outside at 1:00 am and then she was whinning to go out again at 6:00 am. She did pretty good in her crate last night. She didn't like it at first, but we turned on some static noise and it calmed her down and she was quiet until 1:00 am and then was quiet again until 6:00 am. She is very playful and keeps trying to get Fluffy to play with her, but Fluffy wants no part of it (she's 9, and would rather just lay around most of the time).

We named her Midnight.

Wow - It's been awhile

I didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged. So, a little update on us.

We've been hunting for a new dog. Chuck has been itching for a large dog and we have maybe found one. He is out looking at it right now. It's a Mastiff/Rottweiler mix. She's 14 weeks old. So, we'll see if he comes home with her tomorrow from being up in SLC for the farmer's market.

Speaking of the Farmer's Market. Chuck has had really good sales this year. We are hoping we have enough product to get us through the end of September.

We have been having rain every afternoon the past several days. It's nice to have the cooler weather and I haven't had to water the lawn all week. That's the best part about rain. We have flash flood warnings again today. Fortunately our house isn't in the path of any flooding, although the houses across the street have a big wash. The first part of July we had flash flooding and the wash looked like a raging river!

Last of all . . . only 9 days until Joshua turns 3 (can't believe it) and only 11 days until school starts! Whooo hooo!
