Promised Freebie

Ha, I almost forgot to post the freebie I spoke about yesterday. I still have 40 minutes until I missed posting it today. I didn't do up a preview yet, so I'll just say it's a black chipboard alphabet. Nothing fancy, but it's free.

This and that. . . .

Hey readers. I hope everyone is having a good week. Come back tomorrow for a little freebie.

Well, we took our goat over to a friend's house to breed her with his goat. The friend said we could leave her there for a month and see if she would come into heat this late in the spring. Haha, he called back yesterday and said the goats had bred and we could come pick her up. 3 days is all it took hehe. She must have been in heat when we took her. So, come the middle of August (if all goes well) we will have 1-4 baby goats, how fun is that?!!

Friday we are buying 4 chicks. We love having the fresh eggs. You know, when I was 14, 15, 16, 20, 21 . .I would never have guessed I'd have a goat and 1/2 dozen chickens. I wanted to be a legal secretary and move to NYC. Now I live in a town of 400, raising 4 kids, and we have farm animals and raise compost worms. I would never have pictured my life like this, but you know what, I wouldn't trade it.

Saturday is my birthday, so don't forget to wish me a good one (hehe). Especially since I have to work that day.

If you haven't looked at our worm farm website, check it out: http://rottenapplewormfarm.com
We are taking preorders for spring gardening.

Here are a few layouts I've done the past couple of weeks. You can find the credits in my CLD gallery (see link on the left).

This first one was done for Challenge #7 of the Amazing Digi Scrap Race. Had to use a certain number of elements from one designer. I ended up choosing ME as the designer hehe.

This layout was done with Tainted Love by Becki and Little Mrs. Liz.

This last one was done for my CT assignment at CLD.

This first one is a fun summer kit (admit it, you still have photos from this past summer that you haven't scrapped yet and I know it's still hot down under!)

This second kit was designed with a masculine flair for all the men in our lives. I've left out the flowers and fluffy bows!

A Little UpDate

It's been awhile since I did an update on my family, so I thought while I wait for dinnter to finish cooking I'd do a quick one.

Makiya - she is doing great in middle school. She has stayed on the High Honor Roll so far this year and this month (March) she has been named Student of the Month. Talk about a proud mommy moment! In church she attends Young Women's (girls group for 12-18 yo's). They have had a lot of fun activities since she turned 12 in October. They've had a couple of temple trips (LDS Temples/Salt Lake and Manti) and they have had a lot of physical fitness type things. Tonight they are going swimming. She has also started tending for other people and loves it.

Stacia - She loves school. She would rather be there than home! She loves to read too. She'll get 10 books from the Bookmobile and have them all read in the 2 weeks between when it comes. She is anxious for better weather so she can get her bike working and head out on her grand adventures again.

Shayla - She also loves school. She is also my best helper with Joshua. She is enjoying her kitten that she got for Christmas.

Joshua - He is growing up so fast. He actually picked up a piece of wood today and said, "triangle, " and it was! He really had a vocabulary now and says things so clearly (as long as you know he can't say his "L" sound in most words).

Chuck - He is getting anxious to harvest casting again. He's having a big new harvester built for our harvest at the end of the month. He is hoping it will cut down on the amount of hand screening we have to do to get the castings ready to sell. He also got a new calling in church, he is now the executive secretary to the Bishop.

Me - I'm still doing my data entry job. I keep busy with my scrapbooking and trying to keep up with a busy family.

Our whole family has been taking time most nights reading the Book of Mormon together. We were told about an online challenge to read the Book of Mormon in 97 days in honor of President Hinckley, who died the end of January. (He was 97 years old).

We are all looking forward to spring. It's been a very snowy winter. Two Sundays ago I took Chuck to an early morning meeting and when I got home I didn't go fast enough through the muddy part of our driveway and got stuck big time! My neighbor had to come over and pull me out. Things are finally starting to dry out, which is nice! I might even get to clean the laundry room floor (which is where the most used outside door is located) and have it stay clean for a day. Right now, it's useless to even clean the floor in there.

So, there is a little update. You can check out our worms at http://rottenapplewormfarm.com We are taking preorders for castings and we do ship throughout the US.
