Saturday, June 14th

Well, we haven't burned down and the air is cleaner. We've had a few storms blow through the last couple of days. Monsoon season started earlier than normal.

We have been so busy this past week. Chuck has been trying to get a second vehicle up and running. All he has left to do is get it insured and registered on Monday. Yippeeee.

The girls and I have been screening castings ALL week. We got about 200 pounds screened. Should be enough for this weekend and next at the Farmer's Market. We would work in the morning until noon and then again in the evening after dinner. Stacia has gone up to the Farmer's Market with Chuck, and I let Makiya and Shayla sleep over at friend's homes last night. They deserved it!

I'm going to work real hard this morning and get my disaster we call home cleaned real good. Tomrrow evening after we celebrate Shayla's birthday, the girls, Joshua and I are all leaving to stay with my parents for 2 weeks. I've been offered an in-home data entry job, but I have to train in their offices for 2 weeks. I'm pretty jazzed. My computer is not compatible with the company's requirements, so I get a NEW computer. I think I'm more excited to have it for scrapbooking than working.

I will still have internet access at my parents, and I will still be participating in the Amazing Digi Race that starts Monday!

Here is one of the two layouts I managed to get done this last week: (kit by Carole Neale called Best Buds and available at course at DSS)

Here's a little freebie. You can download it here:http://www.4shared.com/file/19834295/8e75337a/tag1.html

Saturday, July 7th

Boy has it been a busy week. We've been harvesting castings all week, and still have another week ahead of us. We also had a fun 4th of July holiday. Went to the parade and park activities in town and as always enjoyed the parade and enjoyed the park activities to the extent you can when you can hardly walk for all the people hehe.

I did manage to get a few CT assignements done. This layout is done using the JulyAdd-On Kit by Vickie available for free with a minumum $10 purchase at DSS. The photo is actually from LAST year's parade.

This next layout I did for the Add-on challenge at DSS. We are given 8 items we have to use in our layout. This is my favorite challenge. Complete three layouts and receive a fantastic kit for your efforts.

This is the layout I did with my assigned designer this week. You can see all the credits in my gallery: http://www.digiscrapshak.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=6187

Wednesday, June 27

Hi everyone. Well, things are going pretty good at our house. We are getting ready to do a casting harvest the first of next week. Things are going well at the Farmer's Market! Stacia went back to the doctor yesterday and he still wants her in PT for 3 more weeks and another follow-up with him in 3 weeks. Still no trampoline for the girls. They are pretty bummed out!

Joshua is really starting to talk up a storm. This morning he saw his sisters with toast and brought me a plate and said, "toast". So, of course, I fixed him a piece of toast.

The weather has been hot, but we are adjusting. Thank goodness for central air!

It's time to post my CT layout for http://www.digiscrapshak/. I was assigned Junianas Designs. I picked her Fresh Summer kit. The photo collage template is by my friend Tanja (Samanta0505). You can find it on her blog.

This bathtime fun layout I made with the help of Shayla. She did a pretty good job telling me where to put everything. (Credits can be found in my gallery at DSS)

This layout is a scraplift off a layout at DSS. The kit I used was the June Mega Kit from DSS. You can find the link to the scraplift in my gallery.

This layout I did for a speed scrap. I used the June Challenge Reward Kit from DSS.

This last one you'll have to look at my DSS Gallery for the credits.

Friday, June 22nd

Happy Friday! Not much going on here. Chuck and Stacia are up north staying at my parents. Chuck had to pick up piano parts from his supplier last nght and deliver some worm castings, so he ended up staying two nights up north rather than coming home to just turn around and have to drive back up again this eveing. He and Stacia are planning on helping Grandpa weed his garden. Tomorrow he will be at the farmer's market in SLC. He did really good on sales last weekend, so we are hoping for weekend sales at least compatible to that.

Last night Makiya went with the achievement day girls to see the Mormon Miracle Pagent. She loved it (although she has seen it before). She got home about about midnight last night and boy was she tired. Shayla and I stayed up and watched the space shuttle and international space station float by way up in the heavens.

Joshua actually stayed asleep until 8:00 this morning. That was nice, but then the phone rang and that was the end of that! Oh well.

I've done a few layouts the last couple of days. You find the credits at my gallery at DSS. The link is with all the links on the side of this blog.

Phat Friday at http://www.digiscrapshak.com/

Here's a Friday Freebie. Enjoy!http://www.4shared.com/file/18421593/b9529287/michelle_squires_cardboard.html

Sunday, June 17th

Happy Father's Day!

My husband spent 2 hours at the hospital this morning getting an infected spider bite lanced. It was pretty interesting to watch!

We stayed home from church today (except Shayla who bummed a ride off the neighbor) because Chuck wasn't feeling well. He kepts getting worse and worse, so I made him go to the hospital.

I have tried now for 2 days to get the layout I did for Stacia's birthday goat photos to load, I have finally accomplished this! Here it is. Credits can be seen at my gallery at DSS. Although, I did make the goat sticker with the help of DLTK kids coloring pages. I'll let you in on a secret. It was so much fun that I'm making up a set of farm animal stickers. They should be available here next week. AND, don't forget, I'm uploading a fun kit tomorrow!

June 15th - Stacia's Birtdhay

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACIA. She is officially 9 years old today. I can't believe it. My little girls are sure growing up.

Here are some pictures of Stacia picking out her goat. This little one here in the center of the picture is the one she picked out. She couldn't get it to come to her, but of all the little ones this one came the closest. She seemed to be the most curious and brave (is that a good thing?)
We won't be able to bring her home until Wednesday at the earliest, but she is close enough Stacia can ride her bike over and watch her. I think she's named her Cookie Dough, but who knows that might change.

Stacia was the only one allowed in with the goats (well, we let Joshua in for a minute to see what he would do) and she had a blast feeding them their evening treat.

This is a side view of the little girl Stacia picked out.

First order of business: Please, please, please, click on these two links and pay tribute to two wonderful layouts honoring a fallen hero. I know it would mean alot to my friend.

Thank you!

Next, we've had a busy morning. I've been filling containers with worm tea and castings for Chuck to take up north to the farmer's market this weekend.

Tonight is Stacia's birthday/slumber party. She's pretty excited. She and Shayla have cleaned the house up pretty good. I need to mop the kitchen floor, but that's it! Good for them.

It's flag day here in the USA. Have you hung out your flag!

You're welcome to leave Birthday wishes for Stacia.

Tuesday, June 12th

Good morning everyone! Hey, I worked hard last night on a freebie that I will have available here next week! You won't want to miss it.

On a personal note, Stacia is off to physical therapy again this morning. Her arm still doesn't have full range of motion yet. She is also going over for more x-rays to make sure the brake is all healed up! The girls are pretty anxious to get back on the trampoline!

Chuck is heading up this weekend to the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market. He will be selling our wonderful Worm Castings and Worm Tea. Makiya is going with him, she's pretty excited. She loves helping him sell the stuff.

Joshua is now saying "ish" for fish. He loves going out and feeding the fish out in the pond.

We are all so excited. Our garden is starting to pop. We've found corn, beans, pumpkins and cat grass all poking their little heads up through the soil. We are soooo excited.

I've added links to several of my DigiScrapShak buddies blogs over on the side with the links. Check them out!

Also, I'm still looking for 2 more Lifeguards. My Lifeguard team is really shaping up. If you enjoy posting and visiting with others on a digita scrapbooking site, you might want to come visit and see if Lifeguarding is something you'd be interested in.

Well, that's about it for Tuesday!

Sunday, June 10th

Oh my goodness. I can't believe it! I got on here just a bit ago and I've had over 250 hits since yesterday! Thank you so much everyone for looking at my blog! (Don't forget to check the great links on the side of my blog!)

We've had a good Sunday so far. Went to church and had wonderful talks and lessons. Everything seemed to revolve around "if ye are prepared, ye will not fear." Big time stuff I needed to be reminded of after the week we've had!

Dinner's cooking and hopefully Joshua will take a long nap, so I can get a Sunday afternoon nap today!

The birthday bash yesterday at www.digiscrapshak.com was a blast. Lots of great gift boxes, I think everyone that bought was pleasantly surprised!

I'm still looking for Lifeguards to help me out over at DSS with posting in the forum and gallery, in exchange for product. (Like the monthly mega kit, challenge kit and coupons to the store!)

Lori is having a fun challenge over at DSS! Scrap a layout using the new Papa Don't Preach June Mega Kit and post it by next Sunday and you'll have a chance at winning coupons to the store!
Here's a layout I did with the kit. This is a picture of my husband with his son, taken years and years ago (consider his son is almost 17).

Wednesday, June 6th

Well, on a personal note, our one and only car broke down on Monday. Chuck spent most of yesterday retrieving it and getting it home. We've got a rental car for a few days, but our awesome friends gave us a van they wanted to get rid of. We need to fix the door, put on two new front tires and get it registered, but it'll get us by for awhile and be cheaper to fix up than a new engine. AND, thank goodness Chuck can do the repair work himself.

Joshua is really trying to say a few words lately. Last night we had a real bad storm and it woke him up. I went in to calm him down and asked him if he wanted to go sleep in my bed with me. He said, "go." He also has started saying, "mot more" for want more, but it's hilarious because he lowers his voice when he says it. Oh, and he started saying, "cak-cak" for cracker. It actually sounds like he's trying to be a duck.

The girls are enjoying summer vacation. They're fighting like cats and dogs, but hopefully we'll settle into a routin here in the next week and it won't be so bad.

Stacia is doing pretty good with her cast off. She still won't straighten her arm, but at physical therapy this morning the tech said she is doing great and right on shedule.

Because of the broken down car, Chuck is having to put off the first week or two of the farmer's market.

My brother and sister-in-law have finally finalized the adoption of their little boy, Deacon. They are having him sealed to them in the St. George temple here in the next few weeks. They are so excited.

Well, that's the personal stuff, now for the digital scrapbooking stuff:

This is my take on the DigiScrapShak Add-On Challenge. It is the funnest scrapbooking challenge there is, if you haven't tried it, go check it out this month. Also, Lori (DSS's owner) has changed the rules for the challenges. Do three (instead of 4) and get the free kit. Cool huh?! Also, we've started a Layout of the Day. At the end of the month my new Lifeguards will choose one to be our Layout of the Month and the winner with receive a coupon to the store, cool huh?! Maybe your layout will turn up (but you have to post at DSS in order to have a chance to win).

This week my assigned designer was Michelle (not me). Chelle Belle Designs is the name she uses for her designing. I chose her Rebel Diva kit for this project. Pretty awesome kit.

June 3rd

Here's a short little video of the girls.

Sunday, June 3rd

Last night we took a picnic to the Rotary Park in Richfield. We had so much fun. One of the challenges at DigiScrapShak is a photography challenge. The challenge was to take candid shots, so that's exactly what I did. I still need to scrap a couple more page, but here is what I've gotten done so far. You can see the credits at my gallery at DSS. See the link on the right hand side of my blog.

Thursday, May 31st

Wow, can't believe May is over already. It seems like is should still be March! Except for the weather feels like the end of June early part of July.

The girls and I (along with the much unneeded help from 22 mo old) got our garden planted. We planted corn, green beans, carrots, cantalope, pumpkins, zuchinnies, spinich and lettuce. This is the first garden I've planted in 22 years! The girls were excited to plant, I'm sure the weeding won't be as exciting.

Joshua and I played outside for a bit with his bouncy ball. He sure throws that thing good!

The girls are doing their reading. I'm such a mean mom! I'm making them read Monday-Friday for an hour before they can watch TV, play with friends of have their 1/2 hour of computer time. On Monday we are going to check out the bookmobile that comes to town. We haven't used it before, but the girls could ride their bikes to where it parks each Monday and pick up a few books.

At 12:30 today we're heading over the the park for the free lunch at the park that is sponsored by the US Dept of Agriculture. We're going to try and go a few times a week this summer.

Tuesday, May 29th

Love to digiscrap?
Love to gab?
Wanna try both at the same time?

On a more personal note, Stacia had the pins removed from her arm today. Wow, what an experience. I watched the doctor pull them out. Stacia went white as a ghost and just about passed out. We start physical therapy tomorrow for a few days to get her elbow moving again and she goes back for x-rays again in 2 weeks. No more cast (she kept it . . .yuck) but she has to be extra careful the next few weeks.

Friday, May 25th - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Here are some layouts I did last night using DigiScrapShak's May Mega Kit. I think I've done 5-6 layouts with that kit and not used the same thing twice (well, except the little tag I used to write on in these three layouts)!

Thursday, May 24th

Tomorrow is the last day of school! The girls are getting a bit antsy to be done with it. This week had pretty much been fun and games. Who wants to do school work hehe.

I've done a couple of pages with my CT assignments. You can see the credits at: http://www.digiscrapshak.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=6187

This next one is a picture of my paternal grandparents.

We are looking for lifeguards over at DSS. If you are interested in help out, please let me know. You would be required to post about 50 posts a week, 7 of which need to be thread starters on the message board. You'll be rewarded generously for your efforts.

I'm waiting for Joshua to go down for a nap (in about an hour) so I can go out and play in the worms. We need to deliver castings to a piano customer tomorrow and also another one on Monday, plus I have to mail a pound of worms to another customer on Monday.

Wednesday, May 23rd

Hi all! Chuck and Stacia left this morning at 5:15 for school. They are headed up to Salt Lake City to the Clark Planitarium for a field trip. Chuck called from Nephi (about 1/2 way point) and said they'd made it to the bus fine and other than a lot of noise, things were going great. I hope they have a wonderful time.

I've spent the last couple of days deleting stuff off my computer. Mostly scrapbook stuff I would probably never use. I cleared up almost 3 gigs of hard drive space! This morning I scrapped my CT assignment and read books to Joshua. He went down for an early nap.

Only today, tomorrow and 1/2 day Friday left of school for the girls. They are getting excited to be done.

Okay, so here is the layout I did this morning. The kit designer is Valorie Brown. It is available at www.DigiScrapShak.com for $5. It is so loaded with stuff.

Monday, May 21st

Well, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a pretty good weekend. Saturday we rented a few DVD's. Ant Bully, Opal Dream and The Work & The Glory III. All were very good family movies.

Saturday night I put Joshua to bed, but about 1/2 hour later he woke up screaming. He screamed until 11:00 (3 hours). I finally took him over to the hospital, but by the time we got there (all of 10 minutes) he was acting just fine. He wouldn't suck his pacifier, leading me to believe he had a sore throat. The ER docter looked in ears and throat, his throat was a little red. He told me to just interchange Tylenol and Motrin. Ugg. So, home we go and I put Joshua to bed (midnight) and he slept until 4:30, started to whine, so I got him up, gave him some more medicine and held him for about 1/2 hour. He went back to sleep and slept until 7:00.

We ended up all staying home from church. Chuck and Shayla both woke up with sore throats. Chuck is feeling better, Shayla is home from school today.

Last week of school! The girls are getting anxious for school to be out.

Well, that's about all that is going on here.

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Wednesday, May 16th

It's been a good day today. I spent some time outside this morning weeding and playing with Joshua. I've even managed to straighten up the house a bit. Chuck has been up north all day, so I've been downloading digi stuff and made this layout. You can find the kit (All Boy) at www.digiscrapshack.com in their store. The designer is SeAScrApS.

I mentioned the other day that a very good friend of my husband called and visited with him for awhile. He wanted to see a picture of our house, so here are a couple of shots from yesterday after Chuck worked hard to mow and edge the yard. Oh, and Joshua started saying "mow" yesterday while he was watching Chuck mow.

This next picture I took while we were in Cedar the day Stacia had her surgery. I saw this house and loved it! I told Chuck (and he agreed) that I would love to paint our house this color and do shutters like this one. What do you think.

Well, I've got one more CT assignment layout to get done, hopefully tonight. I love working on the CT team at DigiScrap Shack!

Oh, and yesterday, I bought a copy of the new Digital Scrapbooking magazine. Very first issue. There are some great ideas in there!

Sunday, May 13, 2007

Sunday, May 13th

Happy Mother's Day. I had a great one. My family totally spoiled me. I got flowers, a corsage to wear to church, breakfast in bed and the cutest little puppy holding a welcome sign to set out on the front porch.

I spent the evening doing a scrapbook page. I think it turned out pretty good. The paper/elements are from the May Mega Kit at www.Digiscrapshak.com It's a huge marvelous kit. I had a hard time figuring out were to even start with it hehe.

Chuck has spent the last hour on the phone visiting with an old friend. That will keep him happy for a few days.

Tomorrow is my cleaning marathon, but I'm going to start later than normal because I want to get my flower beds weeded before it gets hot. Joshua has goopy eyes, a runny nose and a cough. I'm going to hold off until Tuesday to see if he needs to go to the doctor. Stacia is planning on going to school tomorrow, but I won't force the issue. They only go until 11:45 because the teachers are all going to a funeral for the vice principal who died last week, so I'm thinking she'll be okay. Makiya had a bit of a sore throat this morning, so I don't know what'll be up with her in the morning. I'm just hoping Joshua sleeps good tonight!

Well, anyway, drop me a quick note and let me know who's looking. Nite!
